GDipDE ; B.Des (Industrial) ; M.Arch (Prof)
As a graduate with education and experience in industrial as well as architectural design, Nigel looks for opportunities to combine the strengths of these two related but independent disciplines. His particular interests include the application of computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques within architecture, lighting, and furnishings/fixtures design.
Joining S&T in 2013, Nigel brings a ‘mechanical’ mindset working both creatively and methodically towards beautiful and functional solutions. His problem solving skills, eye for detail, and proficiency in BIM, digital modeling and visualization software, serve invaluable for; design development, the production of presentation and design documentation.
Though a Wellingtonian at heart, after hours, Nigel retreats from the city to Paekakariki, where he with his partner Emma have designed and developed New Zealand made furniture and homewares, that are sold and exhibited internationally under their brand Well-Groomed-Fox. When not found with a pencil or computer mouse in hand (or a craft beer for that matter), he is likely exploring the greater region by mountain-bike or Land Rover.
Nigel was appointed Associate in July 2014.
