This Saturday night saw a group of S&T staff, partners and guests attending a charity dinner held in an unusual venue – Accommodation Block A of Mount Eden Prison!

The charity was Shine – an organisation dedicated to providing practical assistance and programmes for the victims of domestic violence and its prevention. Unfortunately it couldn’t have been in a better location. The statistics of domestic violence, child abuse and prison inmates correlate in such a way that makes you take notice.

Stephenson&Turner, as a major sponsor of the event, put up for charity auction $10,000 of fees in order to raise funds for Shine. The $3,000 winning bid was part of the $100,000 raised on the night. We will be doing a house renovation for the generous donor.

This event was an important opportunity for S&T to express our social responsibilities of being a positive member of the New Zealand community. We are proud to have been involved in this event which raised a whopping $120,000 for Shine.
