Josephine is an all-round electrical engineer who enjoys working on lighting, power, data, AV, intercom, nurse call, PA, security and lighting protection. She likes to be up to date with current technologies particularly in the areas of LED lighting, lighting control and structured cabling systems (SCS). Josephine is also familiar with the Ministry of Education cabling standards and ICT requirements. As a PS1 author, she also has to be unambiguous when it comes to compliance matters and delivering solutions to the highest standards.
After graduating from UoA Engineering School, Josephine worked with Connell Wagner for 2 years before moving to Sydney to join NDY to further her career development. Whilst in Sydney she was referred to join Steensen Varming, a Danish found, prestigious consultancy that specialises in lighting and ESD focused design. They were also the incumbent consultancy to the Opera House Sydney since its foundation. Joesphine’s work experience across Australia and New Zealand has led her to be able to handle innovative design efficiently.
Josephine enjoys conveying engineering solutions to people. She particularly enjoys the process of collaboration, developing the design, quality control, before finally reaching the practical completion. Josephine is also passionate about architectural and street lighting coupled with smart controls in order to provide the community with an environmental friendly and sustainable design. She finds the incorporation of smart control with the latest IT gimmicks very interesting especially with it likely to become an integral part of all future buildings.
