Heritage

Working with Heritage sites demands a certain finesse and a precise compliance to restoration guidelines.

S&T has a good understanding of true heritage versus false heritage and the compromise required to maintain a site’s history while preparing it for the future. Our careful planning and detailed design accounts for what needs to be kept, what can be altered and how to avoid these alterations from reducing the heritage value of a building.

We have broad knowledge of the technologies available to repair significant heritage fabrics without causing damage and knowledge of the guidelines that will ensure the restoration work complies. We are cognizant of the investigation practices with the skills to perform the necessary research and compile a thorough Conservation Plan. While achieving the fire, acoustic and structural rating requirements, S&T looks to pare back those awkward additions to reveal the historical features that will complement the existing structures present.
