As leaders in the design of education environments, S&T are committed to meeting the requirements of a progressive, contemporary education scene by keeping up to date with research, working closely with the Ministry of Education and shaping our knowledge around a specific school's learning style and teaching pedagogy. Our unique process actively involves the school community, engaging them in the development of design ideas that are respectful of its community and environment and provides flexibility to accommodate their vision of the future. S&T’s fundamental focus is to provide spaces that are tailored specifically to an individual school’s needs, teaching and learning styles.

Kereru Park Campus Administration & Library Building S&T worked collaboratively with the staff and key stakeholders at Kereru Park Campus in South Auckland to construct an establishment which students could take ownership of.

Ngaio Primary School Block B Ngaio School is set on 1.89ha and has a roll of approximately 500 students. S&T was initially tasked with developing a brief through working with the school and their key stakeholders and turning this in to a master plan aiding the development of a 10 Year Property Plan and allocation of 5ya funding.

Clayton Park School Administration Building & Hall A school is a community resource. Schools provide a focus for community endeavours and activities and allows for mutual growth of community and school life with the resulting development of a sense of place and local identity for all.

Tawa Intermediate School Master Plan & Classroom Block S&T produced a master plan for the school to provide cohesion for three separate projects as well as provide a framework for future projects. The master plan sets the library as the creative and learning ‘hub’ of the school; a central resource that supports all learning.

Takapuna Grammer Special Needs Unit S&T led two renovation projects for the Ministry of Education at Takapuna Grammar on the North Shore in Auckland. The projects are part of a complex $8M re-development project at the school which caters to more than 1600 students from Years 9 to 13.

Kahurangi School Kahurangi School is the latest new school in the Wellington region. Kahurangi, meaning “prized” or “precious”, merges two existing schools, Strathmore Community School and Miramar South School. The design creates a new beginning, with buildings that provide a strong sense of its identity, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of its community particularly Pasifika and Maori.

Marina View School Classroom & Library Replacement This project included the design of six classrooms and a library utilising Innovative Learning Evironment (ILE) Guidelines and weather-tightness requirements. The existing classroom block was a leaky building made up of six independent cells; dimly lit, uninviting washroom facilities; and a neglected courtyard flanked by a narrow, unfriendly verandah.`

Catholic Schools Expansion Programme S&T delivered the Catholic Schools Expansion Programme across nine sites in the lower North Island. A $2.5M project involving five consenting authorities; it required the design, consent, fabrication and installation of a variety of classrooms and resource rooms within a five-month period.

Naenae College Special Needs Unit In September 2013 Naenae College opened the doors to a new specialist learning facility designed by S&T. This was an exciting project which also had to cater for the security and particular needs of the students while still creating a contemporary 21st Century learning environment.

University Of Auckland Building 303 S&T’s Engineers have brought innovative Building Services solutions to this refurbishment of the University of Auckland’s Physics Building (303). The building, completed in the late 1960’s, has undergone various updates over the past few years including an S&T-designed seven-level extension.

Sherwood Primary Master Plan & Redevelopment S&T continues to take a lead role in a holistic design process on this project. A first principles review of the design brief, budget and expected outcomes has led to a re-scoping exercise of the project including the development of a new long term master plan and the introduction of Innovative learning Environments in line with the MoE DCF.

Omata  School New Plymouth Omata School is a 150 student semi-rural school located in New Plymouth. S&T responded to the challenge of modernising existing schools to facilitate an innovative learning pedagogy when faced with the constraints of the existing physical environment. The result is a creative and pragmatic response for Omata School.

Southern Cross Campus Redevelopment Southern Cross Campus is a Decile 1, area school in Mangere, Auckland, catering for students from year 1 to 15. With a roll of approximately 1500, students are predominantly of Pacific descent.

Mana College, Porirua Refurbishment of the Tech Block A new Principal was the driver for bringing a fresh vision and direction to Porirua’s Mana College. After thorough consultation, S&T set to work designing the refurbishment of the Tech Block in line with the school’s new innovative learning strategy.
